In episode 12 of My Unfair Lady, Gordon Man (Frankie Lam) reveals to Saving (Vincent Wong) why he returned to Hong Kong and that he still loves Molly.
Saving: Why didn’t you just continue being a jerk? Why did you come back?
Gordon: Last year I was involved in a car accident. I was hit by a car. I remember at that moment I really thought I was going to die. In my mind, only one person kept appearing. That is [Molly]. I couldn’t explain it, but at that moment, I really missed her. I really wanted to see her. That is why, even though I was in so much pain and could not open my eyes, I still called her.
Saving: Missing her even before death? That means you really love her. Did she pick up your call? What was her reaction?
Gordon: She didn’t pick up the phone. After my surgery, I didn’t call her again.
Gordon: Not sure why I bumped into her in Shanghai. But I found out she never let go of our relationship. So I told myself, no matter what, I cannot repeat the same mistake. This time, I must go even harsher.
In episode 4 of My Unfair Lady, Molly Ling (Jessica Hsuan) gets furious at Gordon Man (Frankie Lam) when he tries to take all the credit, although Molly’s team had composed an entire binder for the proposal, while Gordon only had two pages.
Molly: Yam Gor (Vincent Lam), what do mean Gordon and my proposal? What do you mean by I have to go by him? My proposal had over 200 pages: research, data, execution, and everything. His [proposal] only had two pages. Even you asked if that was all he had. You said you were going to give him some time to warm up. You are clear of the entire situation. Does Mr. Yau (Andrew Yuen) have some misunderstanding? Unless… someone misled the boss and wants to take credit for my work.
Gordon: Don’t say such hurtful things. Don’t say steal. I used a lot of effort before to explain our proposal to Mr. Yau.
Molly: Not us.
Gordon: Of course it’s us. “Singles Shopping Event” was composed by us.
Molly: We pulled an all-nighter. You only put in two sheets of paper and now calling it as ‘our’ proposal?
Gordon: I never wanted to take credit of your hard work, or why else would it be as thick as a textbook? But… my two pages were the main point.
Molly: Don’t tell me nonsense. Truth is, you stole my idea to sell to Mr. Yau.
Yam Gor: Molly, calm down, honestly speaking, did you guys think of this idea together?
Molly: Yes, but all the research and data…
Yam Gor: Good, let’s not talk about the small details, I just want to talk about the overall picture. Then did Gordon think of the idea of gifting movie tickets for purchases?
Yam Gor: There we go! So the proposal was done together. There’s no wrong. Mr. Yau sees your hard work, but also appreciates Gordon’s creativity. If you two can work together, it’ll be best. What do you think?
Gordon: We definitely can.
