In episode 13 of My Unfair Lady, Cherry Ling (Natalie Tong) explodes on her cousin Molly Ling (Jessica Hsuan) after she rehires her ex-boyfriend Hanson Ho (Chris Lai).
Cherry: You spilled that container of porridge! Mom spanked my legs until they bled, but you didn’t say a single word.
Molly: Why are you mentioning an incident that happened so long ago?
Cherry: When I was young, I wanted to become a nurse. You wanted me to study marketing. After graduation, you asked me to come to this company to work. You said my voice was too stern so I should learn how to talk softly to the tenants. When Sam proposed to me at 25, you said he was not hardworking enough. Ok, I didn’t marry. You don’t want me to marry because you don’t want to be alone. You want me to be with you.
Molly: You don’t mention this at all, but turns out you think so much about me behind my back.
Cherry: I know everything. Even when I was young, I knew why you treated me well. You looked after me not because you loved me, but because you were afraid my parents would kick you out. When you wanted to eat something, you would say I wanted to eat it. When you did something wrong, you would say I did it wrong. But I didn’t say a single word. You seem to be right, a control freak, but it is only because you are embarrassed. You have no sense of security.
Molly: Enough! I don’t need you to sympathize.
Cherry: My entire family told me to migrate with them but I didn’t. I told them I wanted to stay in Hong Kong with you because I’ve always seen you as my older sister. I did so much, but how can you not care? How can you treat me like this?
Molly: Get out!
