Episode 01: Jack Lau (Vincent Wong)“But, if you are willing to make sacrifices, then there must be a way. Basically speaking, there are a few levels. Level 1, disregard your image and do not eat expensive foods. Level 2, do not play new technologies and do not go on vacations. Final Level, do not go to weddings and do not attend funerals. Disregard any relatives and you will not see me anywhere.”
-According to Jack (Vincent Wong), these are the three points one must follow in order to pay the down payment and the monthly payments to insure a housing property in Hong Kong, where there is little land and many people wanting to buy a place to live.
Episode 02: Jack Lau (Vincent Wong)“Don’t give up so easily on life. If you are looking for something, that means you still have something to do in life. You are so young and so beautiful, What is that in the world that is provoking you to seek death? I am known for my bad luck. All my friends call me unfortunate. I got dumped by my girlfriend of 14 years right after I bought a new property. And then, I lost my job. I need to pay for the mortgage. I cannot be without a job. Then I applied to 200+ jobs, but none of them accepted me. I do not even know how I will survive next month. I am not even thinking of dying.”
-Jack (Vincent Wong) sees Peggy (Eliza Sam) falling off the pier and thinks she is trying to commit suicide. After rescuing her, he briefly tells her his unfortunate story, and tells her to not give up on life. Although Peggy accidentally fell off, the two become friends after this incident, after they took each other’s phones by coincidence.
-Au Mei Nam (C-Kwan) asks why Jack (Vincent Wong) looks so under the weather, not knowing his new job and new roommate have caused him much trouble. Jack does not know how much longer he can handle at work, nor does he know how he can deal with his weird roommate Miss Choi (Selena Lee).
-House (Evergreen Mak) cannot stand his supervisor Jack (Vincent Wong), but he has no choice because he needs to support his parents, wife, and son financially. He hides in the bathroom stall to complain to his wife, who is like a tree hole, willing to listen to all his troubles. His wife Mary (Rachel Kan) tells him to hold it all in, and rant it all out to him. If not, he can circle his tongue seven times and gulp down the anger.
Episode 05: Jack Lau (Vincent Wong)“But, there is something I must clarify with you. I was the one who reported you living in the mini storage. I am a little wrong. I know. But, it’s not right to live in a storage right… And even if I do not report you, someone will definitely report you…”
-Jack (Vincent Wong) confesses to Miss Choi (Selena Lee) that he was the one who reported someone illegally sleeping in the storage place. Instead of scolding or hitting him, like how she would normally handle matters, she quietly walked away, leaving Jack in confusion. This is indirectly how they became roommates, under unexpected circumstances.
