Tong Xin Ying (Adela Long) meets with Ying Hui (Kevin Tan) at his office, giving him some handmade chicken wings and thanking him for helping her find a new job. She complains everything is good, but her husband does not understand. When she leaves, Ying Hui has Lin Da (Duan Mu Chong Hui) dump out the chicken wings. Through an online video call with his lawyer Smith, Ying Hui is told his divorce must not be leaked to the public as the stock prices for INSO have already been dropping dramatically due to the negative news lately. Ying Hui must fly back to California immediately to meet with the governor and take care of his legal issues. At the airport, Xin Ying is there to bid him farewell. After Lin Da tells Xin Ying that she is already someone else’s wife, she goes home thinking she should file a divorce. Her mother also encourages her to file a divorce and be with Ying Hui instead, although her mother looked down at Ying Hui for being poor and was the one who told her to break up with him before.
The chief editor is not happy that whoever they have interviewed with lately has caught on negative press. But after being persuaded that their magazine should still have good sales because it comes out before all the negative press, she lets a sigh of relief. Mi Fei Er (Gao Ting Ting) goes to the law firm, wanting to see He Yichen (Wallace Chung) after losing in the family wealth lawsuit. After waiting half an hour, she gets impatient and storms up to his office. As Yichen is on the phone with Zhao Mosheng (Tiffany Tang), she overhears Mi Fei Er mocking Yichen for marrying the divorced wife of a rich businessman. Yichen once again rejects to be her lawyer to handle the case. She leaves angrily, much to the entertainment of the people in the open office below. Mosheng comes wanting to yell at Mi Fei Er, only to find her already gone. She tells Yichen she was too weak before but has decided to go the the U.S. and sort out the divorce case with Ying Hui.
After the plane ride to Los Angeles, Yichen and Mosheng meet up with Jason (Arash Estilaf), one of Yichen’s friends. Jason is a funny and outgoing person, although he is also one of the partners at California’s biggest law firms. Mosheng laughs at the way Yichen dresses and the way Jason dresses. Yichen and Mosheng have lunch at the restaurant where the young Mosheng (Janice Wu) had worked when she first got to the U.S. This is the story that Yichen never heard. He finds out Mosheng did not speak English well, had to wash the dishes at the restaurant to earn money, had no money to buy new textbooks for classes and had to carry groceries for a long distance to save money. He becomes sorrowful and regretful when he finds out Mosheng was afraid to return to China because she was not willing to face her father’s sudden death and his mean words. Yichen tells her he too, also has times when his actions speak louder than his words. Yichen tells Mosheng he had originally planned to apply for a visa to the U.S. last year to find her.
