When I first saw the preview for this series, I thought it was going to be a good one. Even when I wrote my 2014 Year in Review, I thought it could not go wrong with Johnson Lee and investigating cases. There were too many missing gaps within the series. But, I was so wrong. Everything went downhill after the first case was solved.
We have Madam (Joey Meng) who also studied criminal psychology. We are later introduced to Sit Down Sir (Johnson Lee). The two start off on bad terms. But some time into the series, I don’t even know when, Madam starts to like Sit Down Sir. So we follow them along the road, with her calling him stupid, a handful of playful slaps and frowns, and here we have Sit Down Sir telling her they cannot be together, because their fate goes against each other. It’s like every time they are about to kiss or get close to each other, something just so happens to get in the way and interrupts them inconveniently, to the dislike of Madam. I was so confused when they started to have feelings for each other. It seemed like they came out of absolutely nowhere! And we get how desperate Madam is, hinting and in directly telling him time after time how much she wants to start their boyfriend/girlfriend relationship.
Another big question mark goes to Chui Sui Bo (Oscar Leung) and Leung Zi (Rebecca Zhu). I swear, when they went on their first date, I thought Leung Zi was starting an investigation on a case and Chui Sui Bo was interrupting her. We get that Chui Sui Bo started to like Leung Zi after she ran in to save her from a fire, but when did she start to like him? Their line drags on and becomes a love square, with the addition of Roy (William Chak) and May May (Harriet Yeung). It was so obvious that Roy liked Leung Zi and May May liked Chui Sui Bo. It seemed like they were the only ones who did not sense it.
And the completely unnecessary people: Sofia (Mak Ling Ling) and Tina (Mimi Chu). Every time they appeared, it was time to do some skipping because they just kept nagging onto Ha Sir (Law Lok Lam).
Perhaps the highlight of the series was Oscar Leung and Harriet Yeung. Those two could not stop calling each other names and making fun of one another, which was funny at times.
