And finally, after 433 episodes of waiting, John Ma (Chris Lai Lok Yi) and Alex Wan (Queenie Chu) are finally together! John Ma rushes to the airport to confess to Alex, upon knowing that she will be going on a business trip. He uses the script from her favorite manga story. Although in previous rehearsals he had stumbled upon certain phrases, this time, John Ma does a 100% perfect job.
John Ma: When the galaxy loses balance, many stars will disappear, one after another. Stars will die out, one by one. But, before the end of life, I will hold your hand. And together, we can travel to the stars, and go around them. In this riverbank of stars, there will be our painted streak of light.
FINALLY! After all this waiting, they are finally together. I guess they had to incorporate the element of how they had first met: at a cosplay competition, where Alex was Sailor Moon and John Ma was Tuxedo Mask. And the episode ended exactly the way the manga was drawn out. Can’t wait to see more of them. Playful John Ma and serious Alex Wan. I see sparks flying!
In Episode 19 of Coffee Cat Mama, Ah Yum (Vincent Wong) and So Mei (Nancy Wu) break the ice on the bus. So Sic (Jerry Koo) calls So Mei to tell her to express her hidden love to Ah Yum and then calls Ah Yum to let him know that So Mei has only been sleeping in the living room. But, this causes a conversation to go wrong. Because So Mei thought that So Sic had told Ah Yum that she likes him, and Ah Yum asks So Mei to move into his room, So Mei thinks that Ah Yum is trying to ask her to be the third wheel in his relationship with Fei Fei (May Chan).
Ah Yum: So Sic told me everything already. Although we did have an argument before, you can still tell me.
So Mei: What argument? You called off our friendship! Last time you came to pick up Bao Jo Gong (Alvin Lau) at my place. How would I dare to talk to you about my matters?
Ah Yum: Do I seem that stingy to you?
So Mei: That means you want to… But didn’t you promised Fei Fei that you were marrying her?
Ah Yum: Me marrying Fei Fei and the two of us are two different matters.
So Mei: Two different matters?
Ah Yum: Yes. After marriage, I plan to move to her place, so you can move into my room.
So Mei: Huh? Are you serious? You plan to…
Ah Yum: Include. Of course! I’m sure that since everyone is so close, living together should not be a problem.
So Mei: But Fei Fei…
Ah Yum: No worries. She mentioned before that she does not mind. As long as it is something I want to do, she won’t oppose of it.
So Mei: I think that she might say that, but she definitely does not feel the same. No one can be so generous.
Ah Yum: Fei Fei is a very good girlfriend. She will definitely not be jealous. In the future, we can come visit, and you can come visit us too. If you really feel it’s awkward, we don’t always have to be a group of three. But, as you are living at my place, I will definitely take the responsibility. You can call me anytime, of whatever needs you have.
So Mei: Although my brother told you about my matters, that does not mean you can think of such a solution!
So Mei was Grace’s tutor so they formed a bond. After their parents’ divorced, Grace and Sherman stayed with their father. Their father Been Chak married So Mei. Their mother, Marcia (Michelle Yim), works every second she has, so Grace and Sherman have a closer bond and relationship with their stepmother, So Mei. At times So Mei is more of a friend as they are about the same age. They play, they laugh, they chat, and they share secrets. But, at other times, So Mei must step up and act like she is the stepmother.
Ah Yum was the childhood friend of So Sic’s younger sister, So Mei (Nancy Wu), so during the summer, Ah Yum would do some construction work with So Sic to earn some extra money. He took along Tai Zee Bao, so naturally, the three became good friends. Ah Yum’s parents immigrated, leaving him with the apartment, and thus he rented it out to Tai Zee Bao and his son Bao Jo Gong (Alvin Lau), and So Sic. The trio take care and look after Bao Jo Gong, while only Ah Yum does the cleaning and the cooking around the house. The trio are always teasing and making fun of each other, but this is their way to show how they care for one another.
In Episode 13 of Coffee Cat Mama, Ah Yum (Vincent Wong) confronts So Mei (Nancy Wu), asking why their friendship story turned into a game concept.
Ah Yum and So Mei met when they were in daycare. Since then, they became best friends. So Mei initially wanted to learn how to knit, and dragged Ah Yum to learn as well, But, Ah Yum soon fell in love with knitting, while So Mei lost interest. So Mei would ask Ah Yum to help her knit things, whether they were scarves, sweaters, or wraps. Starting from Form 7 of high school, So Mei knew that Ah Yum had a crush on her, but she didn’t say anything and chose to ignore his feelings.
One year, they went to the wishing tree to wish upon things. Ah Yum’s wish was for So Mei to be his girlfriend. Although So Mei probably knew what he was wishing for, she still said she hoped his wish would come true.
When Ah Yum found out that So Mei was dating an upperclassman in college, he tried to drink himself to drunk, but So Mei found him and asked him what was wrong. He told her he liked a girl, but she liked someone else. Although So Mei knew he was talking about her, she just ignored the fact and comforted him as if she didn’t knew. Ah Yum was very afraid that she would find out he had a crush on her. He thought that being able to care and support someone he secretly liked could still be a blessing.
When Ah Yum found out three years ago that So Mei was going to marry Mr. Bean, he choked while eating. He tried to tell her that his divorce was indirectly caused by her and that he has two daughters, but she insisted. And during their heated argument, she went on to say that Mr. Bean was stable and mature, unlike him. After Ah Yum told So Mei’s mother, the two ended their friendship. And for two years, So Mei did not call or talk to him.
They rekindled their friendship after encountering each other at Leslie Cheung’s 10th anniversary commemoration, a common idol they had shared. So Mei promised that they could go back to being best friends if he swore under Leslie’s witness that they would only remain friends, and never fall in love with one another.

These couples developed on their own:
Siu Kueng (Jazz Lam) and Paula (Toby Leung) dated for a long time already, but Paula was not willing to get married. She always ordered Siu Kueng around and took most of his money when his paycheck arrived. When a feng-shui master told Paula that marriage would bring her a good career, she immediately agreed to marry Siu Kueng. But because she posted that unless guests would give HKD 800 as a gift to their wedding banquet on a social media page, only two tables showed up. After she yelled that Siu Kueng’s good friends for not giving enough money, Siu Kueng called off the wedding. Indeed, after the wedding was called off, her beauty shop closed down. But, Siu Kueng silently stood by her side and supported her when needed. They got back together when Siu Kueng rented a space for her to reopen a beauty shop, showing that money does not equate to happiness.
Yuen Hoon (Sharon Chan) was always the ‘nobody’ of the office, until Jennifer (Kate Tsui) came in. Yuen Hoon thought Tian Giu (Louis Yuen) was the lover of Kenji (Benz Hui). So, after meeting with his grandma, Vivian, Yuen Hoon decides she needed to change Tian Giu into being a straight man. She does all sorts of things to seduce him, and when they kissed under fireworks, she realized she had finally changed him. But, as it turns out, Tian Giu also fell in love with her. When both Guang Nam and Tian Giu were locked in a freezer room, she ran to Tian Giu first. Guang Nam told her she likes Tian Giu, and not him. Although she was not willing to admit this fact, she realized when Tian Giu did more things to ask for her forgiveness.

Kenji’s brother, Guang Nam (Dayo Wong) did not see highly of them and told both of them to break off the relationship, because Guang Nam did not see love in their relationship. When Kenji found out that Windy was pregnant, he proposed multiple times and did all the chores for her at her home. It was not until Kenji stopped going to her house to do chores that Windy realized how much she missed him. She confessed her feelings for him at a monastery, thinking he was going to become a monk.
This couple did not think highly of each other when they first met. After getting drunk the first time they met, they each held an embarrassing video of one another on their phones. Guang Nam (Dayo Wong) thought Jennifer (Kate Tsui) was just another materialistic girl, trying to find a rich man, while Jennifer though Guang Nam was just an ordinary playboy. They became rivals working in the same company, with Jennifer questioning why he would always help the single women. It wasn’t until Jennifer saw how Guang Nam helped her sister Mika S. (Samantha Ko) and Pak Kin (Sammy Shum) that she started to view him in a different perspective. After hearing from Siu Kueng (Jazz Lam) at his wedding that Super Senior (the four buddies) had to entertain a bunch of old women at a ladies’ club, Jennifer began to fall for him. And Guang Nam started to have feelings for Jennifer when he saw that she spent the entire night at the beach trying to look for his lost ring. However, as Jennifer dropped hints, Guang Nam avoided them. When they finally confessed to one another after meeting at an intersection with no intentions one night, Laura (Harriet Yeung) came out of nowhere and tried to sabotage their love. Guang Nam had no choice, but to pretend he was crazy and scare Laura away. However, this angered Jennifer, so he dressed up as a piece of steak and proposed to Jennifer.
