After watching Duang Jai Akanee (Part 2 of 4 Huajai Haeng Koon Kao), I felt like I needed a break from that series, so I began to hunt for the next lakorn to watch. I stumbled upon Nangfah Gub Mafia. I read that Weir Sukollawat and Pancake Khemanit dated and broke up. This was actually filmed after they broke up. I decided it wouldn’t hurt to watch Weir (which by the way, after this, I completely fell in love with him).
Ram (Weir Sukollawat Kanarot) is a CIA agent who have just came back from the United States with a mission. As he is the only Thai agent, his head, Captain (Noom Surawut Maikun) assigns him the mission to be an undercover and get rid of a mafia group in Thailand. Ram comes from a rich family in Thailand. Although Ram does not want to go back to Thailand, because he thinks his stepmother contributed to the death of his Luks, his twin brother, he has no choice.
Maekala (Pancake Khemanit Jamikorn) is an orphan who is now a flight attendant. Mae is always trying to help others, but when it comes to unraveling the truth, she can be quite stubborn.
It is Mae’s first day as a flight attendant. Ram follows his targets onto the flight to Korea. Through some unaccounted for mistakes on the plane, the pen that was supposed to be used to spy on his targets ends up with Mae. Ram has no choice, but to follow Mae and her gay friend Lum (Art Sajjakarge Jitpeungtam) as they tour around Korea. Ram is finally able to snatch the pen from Mae and put it in his targets’ hotel room.
He helps the targets to escape during a police operation and befriends Yan, who is part of the mafia group. Yan, Chai, and Ram are able to get away, but Wadpum (Hem Hemmawat Nittayaros) suspects Mae to be part of the mafia. This causes her to lose her job as a flight attendant. As Lum is comforting Mae for her job loss, Mae receives a call from her orphanage friend Rose (Jieb Chompoonuch Piyatumchai), who has been caught for selling counterfeit goods.
Taywan (Nam Rapeepat Eakpankul) is the only son of the mafia leader. Unlike his father, he has no interest in violence and what the mafia is doing, but he has no choice, but to act like he cares. Teresa (Kie Rattakorn Satiraboon) is the younger sister of Taywan and the only daughter of the mafia leader. She is a spoiled brat who is usually able to get things around her way. She often bullies those who are under her father.
Yan persuades the mafia leader to hire Ram. Captain and Ram start their mission, transferring information through lottery tickets. When Mae returns back to Thailand, she finds out that Rose did not help her pay her apartment rent, but rather use it to buy a TV. Angry and disappointed, she tells Rose they are no longer friends. Having no place to stay, Mae goes back to the orphanage she grew up in.
She finds out that Madam Songwad is her guardian, and has secretly supported her financially over the years. Madam Wad is worried sick about her stepson, Ram. Mae promises Madam Wad that she will bring Ram back to her. Ram tries to scare Mae away, but Mae is unwilling to give up so easily.
Mae tries to get Lum to help her to go into the nightclub to find Ram, but Lum tries to reject as there are too many women in there. Taywan falls in love with Mae at first sight, and lies to her that he comes from a poor family, and thus has to work at the nightclub. Ram tricks Mae to wait near a spot where prostitutes stand, and then calls the police on her. Teresa’s father tries to break up her and her model boyfriend Aity. She runs away from home, only to be found by Ram, who later comforts her. Ram is assigned as Teresa’s bodyguard.
Ram’s uncle, Dude (Kob Songsit Rungnopakunsi) is secretly trying to take over the family business from Madam Wad. On the outside, Dude seems to be helping and caring about Madam Wad. But, inside, he does not want Ram to come back. Dude drugs Ram and brings him back to their house, handcuffing him to the bedframe. Dude “helps” Ram by giving him the keys to unlock the handcuff.
Mae later helps Ram resign his job as a bodyguard. Madam Wad thinks that by marriage, Ram will be more responsible. She persuades Mae to marry Ram. Although Mae does not know Ram well, she wants to thank Madam Wad for financially supporting her education, so she promises to marry Ram. On the day of the wedding, Mae handcuffs Ram again, in hopes that he would not run away. But once again, Ram runs away, and asks Teresa to hire her again. Mae can only go to Teresa’s boutique to look for Ram, but sees Taywan there instead.
Teresa tries to embarrass Mae at a party, but Taywan comes in to save Mae. Maw handcuffs Ram home, most to his dislike and the taxi driver’s teasing. Mae puts a worm into his shirt to force him to take a bath. This causes Ram to have a fever. Mae has no choice but to take care of him during the night so his fever would go away. The following night, they end up accidentally electrifying each other, causing both to faint.
Mae falls asleep while driving, but thankfully Tawan carries her out of her car. Under the influence of drugs at her friends’ party, Teresa tries to seduce Ram, but the police raid the place, so she is unsuccessful. The drug pill that Ram puts in pocket is accidentally thought of as a sleeping pill by Mae. Mae puts the pill into the orange juice, to which they both think they have sealed the deal the next morning. Mae hides in Ram’s car, to which she unknowingly accompanies him to a warehouse filled with vases, which actually contain illegal drugs.
Not wanting Ram to be caught if the police comes, Mae sets the warehouse on fire. Mae faints in mist of the smoke. Tawan rescues her. Mae thinks Ram is not just involved with selling drugs, but also taking drugs. She goes through all extents to find out if he is really using drugs. She puts him through a drug test, to which Ram just uses someone else’s urine. The test comes out to be positive, so Mae tells herself she must help Ram to quit. Captain finds out and instructs Ram that if he does not want Mae to always tag along, he should pretend to be a drug addict.
The next morning, Ram pretends to inject drugs to himself. Mae tries to stop him, but ends up stabbing with the needle. Seeing them argue, Madam Wad kicks Ram out of the house. Tawan tries to fire Ram for the sake of Mae. Mae calls Rae telling him that she will sign divorce papers if he is willing to go home. Teresa overhears this and promises Ram that if he brings her evidence that he is divorced, she will allow him to be under her father, instead of being her bodyguard. Mae asks Lum to help act out a scene of her being robbed, but when she hears Ram referring to her as wife, she does not know how to react.
Together with Lum, Mae drugs Ram, and brings him to a secluded area. She tries to make him drink ‘traditional medicine’ that will help him to quit his desire for drugs. Ram tries to tell her it was all acted out, but she doesn’t believe him. Ram has no choice but to ask Captain to save him through his watch, which has GPS. When the two people come to save Ram, the guy that Dude hired to kill Mae is confused to what all the commotion is.
Captain disguises as a farmer and scares Mae that there are tigers near that area. She is scared and leaves the area. Mae does not know how to face Madam Wad because she is unable to bring Ram home, so she wanders off in the streets. At this time, Rose calls her asking her to lend her some money again. Rose wants to borrow Mae’s wedding ring to pay of some debts, but Mae is unwilling to let her do so. When Ram goes back to Teresa, she throws away his wedding ring, but Tawan picks it up.
Mae helps Rose sell cosmetics at a nightclub, but encounters Ram. She quickly spreads a white mask over her face, thinking Ram won’t recognize her. She also overhears Ram’s sweet-talk with Teresa, which makes her feel sad. She helps Tawan escape from people beating him up. Tawan tries to confess his love to Mae, but is interrupted by fireworks. Ram finds himself questioning himself where Mae is, to which he tells himself to stop those thought because they have broke up already. Yan returns the ring that Mae had thrown into the air at the marketplace, back to Ram. At at tea farm, Ram has flashbacks of what he and Mae have gone through. Teresa’s dad, the mafia leader, instructs Ram to kill a tea leaves thief as a way of testing him. Ram teaches the thief how to hold his breath in the water, giving him a path to freedom.
Dude pushes Madam Wad down the stairs when she finds out he is trying to take over their wealth. Mae gets to the office just in time to save Madam Wad from any more harm. She blames herself for not looking after Madam Wad. Teresa seduces Ram again, but Ram stops her. Teresa dresses in a bikini near a waterfall to ask Ram to swim with her, but ends up fainting due to a crocodile scare.
Ram gains trust from Teresa’s father. Mae comes to tell Ram to go home to see his ill mother, but he thinks she is just lying. Mae has no choice but to tell him she is pregnant, even though she isn’t. Ram forces her to go get a pregnancy test at the hospital, to which she pretends Ram is trying to get her to have an abortion. This causes the other women in the hospital to fight against Ram. Mae finds out Tawan is actually the son of the mafia leader.
Ram gets jealous when he sees Tawan promising to take care of Mae and the baby. She carries her back to his room. At this time, he has unwillingly fallen in love with Mae without even knowing. Teresa’s father instructs his people to throw Mae in the lake. Ram immediately goes to rescue her. This causes Teresa to be jealous. Heartbroken after hearing from Tawan that Ram tried to hit her (only because he wanted to wake her up), Mae decides to return to Bangkok.
Ram returns to Bangkok to find that indeed Madam Wad is in the hospital. He asks why and how it happened, but Mae just ignores him. He tries to care about their ‘baby’, but Mae tries to hint that she isn’t pregnant. Ram misunderstands that Mae is dating Tawan. During an operation, Wadpum shoots Ram in the leg, causing him to sink into the water. Mae’s friend Lum saves him as he is on a date near the water and tells Mae to take care of him. As his communication tool with Captain, the watch was damaged by water, he gets a new equipment, sunglasses that will help him to take pictures and communicate.
In the midst of telling Mae not to call an ambulance, Ram faints. Mae has no choice but to buy medicine and a tools to help him remove the bullet from his thigh. Ram ends up removing the bullet by himself as Mae is too afraid to do so. Mae helps to take care of Ram, who now has a fever. Ram and Mae slip, causing them to accidentally kiss each other. Upon helping Ram escape, Mae immediately returns to Madam Wad at the hospital. She finally wakes up and tells Mae that Dude was the one behind all this.
After Mae tells Ram that she is not pregnant, Ram tells her she will be the most hated woman in his life. Dude tries to persuade Ram to believe Mae tried to murder Madam Wad, after Dude is unsuccessful in doing so. Ram has his doubts about it. Mae brings Madam Wad to stay with Rose, where it is safer. Tawan is mad after he finds out Mae isn’t pregnant. When Teresa sees Ram and Mae arguing on the streets, she tries to push Mae into the streets, where cars are just rushing through. Tawan arrives to the scene as well, but Ram is quicker by a step and rescues her just in time.
Ram threatens Mae he’ll cut off all her hair if she doesn’t tell him where Madam Wad is, just as how she threatened him to break his leg last time if he went out. Ram goes to the orphanage (where Mae had grew up) to seek Madam Wad, as directed by his uncle Dude. Madam Wad and Tawan hide in a life-size animal figure, and thus they did not find them. When Ram gets back, Teresa forces him to put a ring on her finger as an engagement ring. This reminds him of the time when he and Mae exchanged rings at their wedding ceremony.
For Mae’s safety, since Dude hires someone to get rid of Mae, Tawan proposes that Mae marries him. Teresa tries to get Mae jealous by acting sweet talking to Ram in front of her, and Mae tries to get Ram jealous by doing the same thing to Tawan. Ram gets sad when he sees Mae and Tawan hugging. Ram secretly tags along when Mae returns to the orphanage to see Madam Wad. When Teresa finds out, she starts a rage and swears she will kill Mae. Thus, Tawan follows her so she won’t do anything stupid. When she gets there, she sees Ram forcing a kiss on Mae.
Yan helps rescue Rose and Madam Wad from the sharkloans. The mafia leader tells Teresa to get married on the tea farm. Mae gets sad when she sees Ram and Teresa hugging. As Mae is running away from the mafia group, she stumbles upon Ram in the bathroom, talking to Captain via his sunglasses. Teresa senses something between the two of them when she sees them walking out of the bathroom, one after the other.
While Teresa and Mae are on a mountain, Teresa pushes Mae down and Teresa loses her balance and falls as well. When Ram gets to the scene, he goes to Mae first, surprising both Teresa and Mae. When Teresa throws a fit, Ram has no choice but to go to her. This leaves Mae very heartbroken.
Mae tries to find evidence about Dude in the mafia leader’s office, down in the basement. At the same time, she sees Ram there as well. Chai notices something is wrong when the door is locked, so he brings people to catch them. But, they escape in time and run off to a tea warehouse. But, while they were running, a piece of glass splatters onto Mae, causing her to faint. Once at the warehouse, Ram helps to wrap her wound and kisses her on the foreword, unable to control his emotions no longer. They hide in a crate. Ram kisses Mae as she complains she is unable to breathe. When Tawan goes to the rescue, he picks up Ram’s sunglasses, and at home, he notices something odd about the sunglasses.
Tawan starts to suspect Ram. When Mae and Teresa try on their wedding dress, Mae’s beauty catches the eyes of Tawan and Ram, causing Teresa to be jealous. Ram tells Mae that if he had the choice, he would listen to his heart. Mae asks Ram if there was one second that he liked her a little. But, Teresa appears, so Ram cannot answer honestly. Ram urges Mae to leave the tea estate because their wedding day is the day when the police will take action and seize the mafia. But, she rejects to do so.
On the day of the wedding, Ram notifies the police, ready to take action anytime. Because Tawan overheard the conversation between Ram and Captain in Ram’s room, he tries to save his father and Mae. Ram sees Dude at the drug warehouse, surprising him. Tawan confronts Ram, asking if he likes Mae or Teresa. While trying to capture Dude, Wadpum shoots Ram by accident and Mae witnesses him falling off the cliff.
Mae is very sad upon knowing that Ram has ‘died’. At his ‘funeral’, Captain reveals that Ram is actually an undercover agent trying to unveil the drug trafficking in the mafia group. Wadpum finds out that Ram is actually a police as well. When Ram sneaks into the house to check on them, he sees a Mae crying for Ram in her dreams. He escapes just before they see him. Mae brings Lum to the temple to “pay their respects”. As Ram has been following them all along, Mae sees him and at first thinks he is a spirit. Mae faints upon seeing a real dead body in the room.
Ram carries her out, only to see Dude and Yan going after them. Teresa comes out and holds Ram and Mae hostage. Teresa tries to kill them, but Dude stops her. Lum goes to help Madam Wad obtain money to give to Dude. When they are tied back-to-back, Ram tells Mae that he knows she fell in love with him, describing how she was worried sick about Ram when she was sleeping. Mae persuades Yan to free them, as she doesn’t want to see her friend Rose lose her boyfriend.
Ram, Mae, and Yan barge into Chai trying to rape Teresa. They are successful in holding him back. At the meeting place where they had decided to collect the ransom, Chai is shot and Ludwad shoots Dude. Dude is sent to jail. At the press conference, all the women are proud of Mae. Ram pretends to be drunk so Mae can carry him home.
At home, Ram tries to confess to Mae, but both are unwilling to let the words out. Ram reconciles with Madam Wad. Mae leaves, thinking her mission has been accomplished: returning Ram to Madam Wad. Ram tries to find Mae, but is unsuccessful. It turns out Mae went to find Tawan to help him live his dream: open a coffee shop. When Teresa is out with Ram, people go up to her and tell her how much trouble her father has caused to their family because of the drugs he sold. Teresa finally realizes the wrongdoings of her father.
Mafia members from Hong Kong help Dude escape from jail. They bring him to a cornfield and try to murder him, but a fire starts and he suffers from burns all over his body. After telling Madam Wad that the Hong Kong mafia is after Ram, Dude dies. As Dude gave the list of people who contributed to the mafia leader’s death, the Hong Kong mafia go after the police force. After a battle with the one of the triad members, Mae and Tawan run away to a farm and become workers for a picky woman.
Getting to the scene, Ram knows it is dangerous for Teresa, so she puts her at Wadpum’s apartment, much to his discontent. They do not get along well. Teresa donates his reptiles to the zoo. Wadpum cannot put up with her princess attitude. Teresa feels bad for donating his pets, so she brings lunch to his office, but gets jealous when she sees him hugging his sister, who she thought was his girlfriend. But when Teresa leaves his apartment, they both know they have fallen for each other.
At the farm, the picky woman dreams for her daughter to marry someone rich. But her daughter wants to marry someone she loves. While trying to commit suicide, Ram coincidentally saves her and brings her back to the farm, where she finds Mae and Tawan there. Ram is forced to pretend to be the daughter’s boyfriend so he can continue staying there.
That night, Mae and Ram confront each other, but end up accusing each other of having another person. Mae cannot face her own feelings for Ram, so she chooses to avoid them. Ram tries to get Mae to admit her feelings, but she tells him she loves Tawan, so he forces three kisses on her. It turns out the guy who is out to hunt for those who contributed to the mafia leader’s death is the one the picky woman is trying to get her daughter to marry.
The Hong Kong mafia holds Mae captive. Tawan and Ram go to save her. After another bullet fight, Ram runs with Mae to escape from them. When the Hong Kong mafia leader tries to use a bomb to kill them all, including the police, Ram grabs Tawan into the water, so they are all safe.
After all has concluded, Ram tells Tawan that he is not the type of guy to sweet talk, so he and Mae will not be happy together. Mae overhears and tells Tawan she only wants Ram to say he loves her. When Ram sees them hugging, he thinks Mae is going to France with Tawan. Teresa tells Ram they did not go to France together.
Ram decides to look for Mae, who flew to Korea, with the help of Lum. They both try to get the other to express their true feelings, but are reluctant to do so at the same time. At the end, Ram loses this ‘game of wits’ and tells Mae that he can’t live without her annoying him and yelling at him, perhaps that is love.
I really enjoyed watching this drama. That includes watching it again to write up this summary. Almost every bit of it was enjoyable. We go on the journey to see how the bickering pair, Ram (Weir Sukollawat Kanarot) and Mae (Pancake Khemanit Jamikorn) unknowingly fall for one another to misunderstanding one another to finally admitting they love one another. (If only they were still together in real life…)
The beginning with Teresa (Kie Rattakorn Satiraboon) being a spoiled brat was annoying. It was just her threatening all those under her dad. She had to get anything that got in her way. But then we see her slowly turning back to a normal person after the death of her father, and after seeing how drugs have been an impact to families.
