This series was watched a good three months after the first Thai lakorn. I came back from vacation and began researching Pong Nawat because I was so addicted to him!! So I found this series and watched the first episode, but had to put it down for a while as I was caught up with schoolwork. But when I wasn’t so busy, I picked up on the lakorn once again.
Tutiya’s (Pong Nawat Kulrattanarak) father and Noodum’s (Tangmo Pataratida Patcharawirapong) father used to be childhood friends. They had also made a deal that their children would marry each other. However, Tutiya’s family lived in the city and Noodum’s family lived in the suburbs. Their lifestyles also varied a lot. At a high-social class party, Tutiya is attracted to Dao (Pang Ornjira Larmwilai). And Noodum has a secret admirer, her friend Tongrob (Oh Anuchit Sapunpohng), who is a police in their countryside.
Tutiya goes to find Noodum at the countryside, as a way of telling his father that he and her are incompatible. Noodum tries to mock Tutiya, knowing he is not fond of country girls and paints herself brown (some paint from natural ingredients that has a foul smell to it). Tutiya obviously dislikes the Noodum that is presented in front of him. He tries to call off the marriage and drives home. However, due to the car accident, he is sent to the hospital.
Noodum tries to trick him into believing that he is a worker at her plantation, with the name of Ai Tui (meaning cow). He believes her and after he recovers, he is forced to work on Noodum’s farm. Dao comes looking for Tutiya in the countryside. Once Noodum knows of this, she tries to stop Dao from doing so. When Noodum crashes the car down the mountain, both she and Tutiya are sent to the hospital. At this point, Tutiya regains all his memory, and plots to take revenge on Noodum for pranking him.
Tutiya pulls pranks on Noodum, including ruining her tractor, to which her workers tell him that the tractor means a lot to Noodum, because it is her most prized possession. When a man who wants to buy Noodum’s lands and convert them into real estate, sets a fire, Tutiya saves Noodum in the blazing fires. Tutiya’s dad arrives at the countryside to continue thinking of plans with Noodum’s dad to get the two to marry each other.
Noodum’s dad tricks Noodum saying if she doesn’t marry Tutiya, their plot of land will go to Tutiya. And Tutiya’s dad tricks Tutiya saying that the plot of land is actually theirs and if he doesn’t marry Noodum, the plot of land will go to Noodum. Both Noodum and Tutiya have no choice, but to give in to their father’s say. When they are taking their wedding pictures, Dao interrupts them and Tutiya assures Dao that he does not love Noodum. Tongrob overhears their conversation and Tutiya and Tongrob start a fist fight.
Meanwhile, Noodum drives off, but is approached by the evil man who wants to take over her estate. Luckily, Tutiya comes just in time to rescue her and they both run off to the forest. Tutiya and Noodum spents their night shielding from the rain in a cafe, and when they got cold, they hugged each other for warmth. Tongrob and Dao also go out to find their crushes, shielding from the rain under a roof, and when Tongrob sees Dao shivering from the cold, he puts his arms around her.
After their ‘marriage’, they move back to the city. Noodum tries all sorts of way of embarrassing Tutiya, including asking him to come back to her through the loudspeaker in a shopping mall and buying cheap clothes to mock him for fashion. Tutiya is a neat freak, but Noodum is always trying to mess with his wardrobe and room. Noodum continues to paint herself black so Tutiya has no choice but to sleep in his servant’s room.
Tutiya signs Noodum up for a fashion show, in which she has to wear high heels. She struggles balancing and walking in them. During a fitting, Tutiya is about to help her when she falls, but is stopped by Dao and the others who start hysterically laughing at Noodum. Noodum tells her friend to bring her more of the paint, once again painting herself black and even introducing herself as Tutiya’s wife to the media and press, embarrassing him.
Tutiya doesn’t return home that night, which worries Noodum. But, Tutiya, in his car, is thinking of Noodum as well. Tutiya knows she has some feelings for him, and therefore tricks her to saying he will be bringing her to somewhere she has never been before, and asks for a separation. He pretends to be all sad, saying their competition will come to an end, because he doesn’t want to compete anymore.
His car ‘breaks down’ in the middle of the road, so they have to stay at a hotel temporarily. When Tutiya goes out to look for the car mechanics person, Dao calls his phone, which he had left in the hotel room, and Noodum picked up. Dao screams over the phone, saying Tutiya should not ruin Noodum’s life. Noodum is saddened upon hearing this and uses a stick to hit Tutiya on the head. Tutiya pretends to faint, with Noodum crying that he cannot forget all they’ve been through. He wakes up and they hug.
Tutiya’s parents arrive the next morning, with Tutiya’s mom reminding him that he is too good for Noodum. Meanwhile, Noodum tries to escape, but is kidnapped by Tutiya, who brings her to a private island by mistake. In the middle of the night, Noodum falls sick and trembles saying how cold it is. Tutiya starts a fire to warm her up. Because there is a thunderstorm, Tutiya’s parents, Dao, and Tongrob are unable to rent a boat to find them.
Tongrob says that if Tutiya says he loves Noodum, he will leave them alone. Just when he is about to say so, Dao interrupts, telling Noodum this has been a game all along. Noodum runs away from them, but Tutiya tells Dao that this isn’t a game anymore. This is real. But Noodum insists on going back to the farm. Tutiya’s father fakes fainting to allow his son more time to win her back. Tutiya tries on various occasions to ask Noodum to stay with him, but is always interrupted by either Dao or Tongrob.
Tutiya’s mother, who was never fond of Noodum, fakes a kidnapping with the help of the evil man who wants to take over Noodum’s lands. This is to fake Noodum was part of it. The man records a video showing their unusual conversation, to which Dao finds later on when Tutiya’s mother orders the servants to dump in the trash. Tutiya thinks Noodum is part of the kidnapping, in which she decides to leave him and go back to the farm for good.
After Noodum leaves, Tutiya’s mother tells him to marry Dao. Dao even put sleeping pills in his coffee, taking off his clothes, and then opening the door for news reporters the next day to fake some news. Dao takes the divorce papers to the countryside and tells Noodum to sign them. When Tongrob confronts Dao of her actions, she accidentally pushes him, causing him to hit his head. Because he Tongrob is a respected man in the countryside, everyone is curious to who did it. Dao has no choice but to promise to take care of him. She attempts to cook for him, which is not very good cooking.
Tutiya once again tries to reconcile with Noodum. Meanwhile, Tongrob tells Dao he likes her. But Dao only thinks this is a plan to steal the divorce papers from her. The evil man kidnaps Dao while she tries to run away. When Noodum tries to save her, she is tied up as well. A fire breaks out and Tutiya saves Noodum in time, but hands her to Tongrob, saying she would probably be mad if she found out Tutiya had saved her.
Dao goes to find Tongrob at his home and Tongrob goes to find Dao at her hotel, all as planned by Tutiya to bring them together. When they get back to the city, Dao tells Tutiya that two people should get married because of love, and therefore she calls off the marriage, and at the same time gives the tape recording of his mother and the kidnappers from earlier. Tutiya is furious upon seeing the tape. Tutiya almost swears he will go to find Noodum to win her back. Meanwhile, Dao also returns to the countryside to find her love, Tongrob, to which they promise to help Tutiya get back with Noodum.
Tutiya dresses up to be Mike, by painting himself a tannish color, putting on a fake mustache and a fake wig, dressing in clothes he would have never dress in before and also claiming to be a cousin of Tutiya, who was asked to manage the farm. “Mike” bets with Noodum that if they win the farm competition, he will kiss her. “Mike” gets sick from the rain, but still manages to win the competition. This competition is meaningful, because the winner gets a new tractor, of which Tutiya had broke Noodum’s earlier on.
Everyone celebrates with “Mike”, but Noodum is secretly jealous. “Mike” finally collapses after trying to restrain from his sickness. Tongrob tells Noodum that Tutiya was actually the one who saved her from the fire. Tutiya finds out that Noodum is pregnant. Tutiya tries again to ask Noodum to come back to him, but she rejects. He follows her until night time, when her favorite cow, Sumlee has to give birth. Tutiya helps the cow to give birth, and it is then that Noodum finally realizes that Tutiya is a changed man. She finally forgives him. He tells her she has changed him into a caring person. The next morning, Tutiya runs around the field trying to catch Noodum for the bet he placed earlier: the kiss.
This was a really funny and enjoyable series. I got to see Pong as a rich man and as a farmer. I do have to say the ending was too repetitive. He lies to her, she forgives him, they make up, and the cycle goes on several times until the final ending. Happy ending though!
